Education:
Dr. Cox graduated Summa Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He returned to Oklahoma for medical school at the University of Oklahoma where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha and Summa Cum Laude. He completed a residency in General Ophthalmology at the Callahan Eye Hospital in Birmingham, AL. While there, he served as Chief Resident. He stayed in Birmingham to do a fellowship in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery sponsored by the American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Only ten percent of applicant surgeons are selected each year to participate in these highly competitive and intense two-year surgical fellowships. During his fellowship he performed over 3,000 surgeries, the most in the country.

Dr. Cox is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has recently passed his oral and written exams for the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) board certification, the only physician in Northeastern Oklahoma to do so. He’s also the only two-year fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon in the area.
